With excitement across the country in the stadiums and on the pitch, we’re dreaming of the incredible destinations that make this tournament so special. From cultural experiences, city breaks and outdoor excursions, we’ve rounded up some of our favorite World Cup destinations to inspire your next adventure.
Norway
We have to wonder if any of Norway’s World Cup team has ever practiced at Henningsvær Football Stadium in the Lofoten Islands, arguably the most beautiful pitch in the world. Sitting above the Arctic Circle, the surrounding rocks and cliffs create the seating to enjoy the game.
The Lofoten Islands are a remote archipelago known for colorful fishing villages, kayaking in crystal clear waters and breathtaking viewpoints. On a sunny day, you may be convinced you’ve been transported to a Caribbean island.
France
France knows a thing or two about football - and also about enjoying life off the pitch. Between training sessions and match days, we’re pretty sure that café au lait and pain au chocolat are on the agenda.

Scotland
Scotland is known not only for its breathtaking landscapes, but during football season, the team spirit is contagious and truly steals the show. The Scots are some of the most loyal supporters in the world, and even if you’re not rooting for them, it’s hard not to get swept up in the camaraderie.
Start in Edinburgh, where cobblestone streets, historic architecture, and a castle perched high above the city make it a must-see. We always recommend spending a day or two here before heading into the countryside, whether that's the legendary fairways of St Andrews - and yes, we've got your tee times covered -or the breathtaking landscapes of the Highlands. While summer is the most popular time to visit, we've found that the shoulder seasons of April, May, and October offer beautiful scenery, fewer crowds and a more relaxed space.
Portugal
Portugal lives and breathes football, and we’re pretty certain that the streets are flooded with fans and bars are packed with watch parties on World Cup match days. We are sure that petisco snacks are being passed around, paired with a glass of Vinho Verde.
When most people think of Portugal, they picture the golden beaches and dramatic coastline of the Algarve, including iconic spots like Praia da Marinha. Beyond the beaches, Portugal is home to world-class wineries in the Douro Valley, which beyond the wine, is known for its stunning mountainous scenery. Belgium
One of Europe’s smaller countries, but they are mighty when it comes to football spirit. On match days, you’ll quickly find good company, great beer and team spirit go together hand-in-hand.
Belgium is known for its fairytale towns and if a winter getaway is on your mind, we propose putting their Christmas markets on your list. Cities like Ghent, Bruges and Brussels really put on a show(literally - there’s a 3D Christmas light show at the Grand-Pace) when it comes to being festive for the holidays. The country is full of grand architecture to admire and you can indulge in chocolates, waffles and frites along the way.
