The Old Sod team was “lovely” as they say in Ireland! The trip was the perfect mixture of challenging golf courses (with beautiful views of the coast and countryside) to outstanding accommodations of Bed & Breakfasts and charming Inn’s to full-service hotels. I would highly recommend this group, if you are traveling throughout Ireland.

They customized our trip to my particular preferences while still constantly keeping in touch with us and suggesting the most interesting stops along our route. My son and I met pub owners and engaged in very insightful conversations with the residents in Lahinch and Ballybunion.
The walking tour in Dublin with Conor was spectacular! A quick historical description of Irish culture and government was a stimulating way to spend a couple hours in the big city.

Fantastic! Katie took care of all the important details before I even needed to ask. She had great insight into the area and was able to plan our trip around our needs.

There are many details in a trip such as ours. We have never been away for 19 days. Katie at Old Sod did an amazing job. We were extremely grateful for our wonderful drivers/guides – Neil and Tom. We felt totally taken care of. Everything worked out exactly on time as planned and our trip was rich with great experiences and memories. We are happy that we chose Old Sod for our Scotland/Ireland journey!

We worked with Julie Cole of Old Sod Travel in arranging our 3 week trip to Ireland and Scotland. We wanted to concentrate on the southern sections of each country, stay in nice but not 5 star hotels, with a preference for smaller and/or more historic lodgings. We also asked to use public transport a bit, as well as car and driver, but planned to do no driving ourselves. To put it simply, Julie “hit it out of the park”! Our hotels through the trip in both countries were exceptional, the itinerary was planned to give us just the right amount of introduction within the time available. The car/driver combos were knowledgeable and professional, and the time spent in each location just right to introduce, peak interest to return, get a “feel”, etc. Carolyn and I recommend Old Sod and Julie Cole without reservation!

Katie arranged an amazing honeymoon trip. It was filled with historical sites, delicious restaurants and amazing guides. We especially enjoyed our guide, Ian, who added additional spots including the town that saved England from the plague!

Simply AMAZING trip to Scotland and Ireland. Julie from Old Sod Travel helped us plan an unforgettable adventure and she kept in touch all along the way, making sure every detail surpassed our expectations. From setting up drivers to arranging meals and accommodations to arranging private tours and excursions. We saw all the sites and took in a Guiness tour, a couple of whiskey tours, and a Falconry experience that we’ll remember forever. We had transport to and from our hotels as well as airports. All of our excursions were led by local guides who knew the areas and history. We had some truly local experiences that most folks don’t get to see. We will definitely be recommending Old Sod Travel and Julie to anyone who desires a wonderful trip. We would never have had the itinerary and experience we did had we tried to go it alone. We just got back from a magnificent trip to Scotland and Ireland planned exclusively by Julie Cole. I cannot express how wonderful this trip was with her expertise and knowledge of the areas we traveled. Her attention to every detail was truly incredible, down to texting us the morning of one of our sites, telling us to remember our headphones for Trinity College. I am already thinking of our next trip and will most definitely being using one of their sister companies, the service is remarkable and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Julie organized a lovely trip for us to Ireland. She coordinated our tours/travel between private guides/ drivers and trains. Our hotels were well situated so we could easily explore each city. She made dinner reservations and checked in periodically to make sure everything was running smoothly.

We decided to go to Ireland for our first trip since Covid. Having traveled by bus with few exceptions, we felt like we wanted to create our own journey. Choosing Old Sod as the company to help in the planning was the best choice we could have made. Our contact, Julie Cole, listened with incredible patience and respect as she helped us plan one of the best trips we have ever taken. She made the connections for all the transportation, hotels, and sites, even arranging-at our request-for a marvelous cooking class. The pace was perfect through the 10+ days, the sites were carefully chosen and wonderfully interesting and diverse. The hotels were well-located , allowing us to use our down-time to explore on our own. Julie Cole and Old Sod were such a good choice for us, we are already talking about our next trip with them!

Old Sod is wonderful for planning a golf trip to the UK. They are incredibly accommodating to your suggestions, and deliver a fantastic itinerary. I was able to play every course that I wanted to, and the hotels they chose were top tier.
