Old Sod

“Old Sod” is an old term used by generations of Irish Americans to refer to Ireland. When trips were contemplated back to their old country, the traveler would talk about going back to the “Old Sod”.

The Old Sod of the past is not the Old Sod of today. People used to return to Ireland to visit family and reconnect with their roots. Today Ireland is a true tourist destination with an incredible variety of options for someone in search of a unique vacation. Whether that be a relaxing vacation, a luxurious trip or an active outdoor adventure, Ireland has it all.

Old Sod Travel was created to help Americans discover all that Ireland has to offer.

Testimonials

I am so happy to report to you that it was one of the best planned trips we’ve had!

The series of stops and time spent in each place was perfect. Kevin, the driver was beyond good, helpful and pleasant. Everyone agreed that though it was a splurge it was worth it. All of the B&B’s were exceptional with the best breakfasts and lovely hosts. Thank you so much for all you did. It truly was a beautiful two weeks– kids had a great time with all of it. I don’t think one thing mis-fired, no one even lost a pair of sunglasses and we needed them! Can you believe it? Sunny most days and 60ish. What a beautiful, exquisite green lush country and the people were very, very friendly.
